You do not need a significant other to do a boudoir shoot!
We all have various insecurities. Just last week, a woman told me she’s always wanted to do a boudoir shoot, but she’s waiting until she loses weight. Then another, told me she’s always wanted to, but she thinks her boobs are too small. These may seem like valid reasons, but… I know lots of camera/angle/posing tricks.
Just two quick examples: Lying on your back flattens your stomach, and laying an arm under your chest creates cleavage and hides your belly.
For a single woman though, the reasons aren’t so easily fixed. A single woman might be thinking
“Who is even going to see these photos? It’s not like I’m going to share them on Facebook…what is the point of investing in this for myself?”
However, boudoir photography isn’t about seducing a man, it’s about celebrating your femininity.
Falling in love with how you look in the mirror. Realizing that you’re beautiful even if you don’t have a man. Every woman needs this, but I’m starting to think that if you’re single, you might even need it even more than someone who’s in a relationship.
Why not invest in something that’s going to help you love yourself for who you are? You don’t even need more reason than that, but here are 3 more reasons:
1) Confidence is attractive. If you are lacking self confidence, a boudoir shoot might be exactly what you need! Confidence is so attractive, so even if all it does is increase your self confidence, I think that would be a worthwhile reason to do one!
2) Capture how amazing you look in this moment, and save it for your wedding day. How romantic would it be to present your future hubby with an album full of sexy images of you? I WISH I would have done this! You could present it to him the morning of the wedding with a note that says, “No other man has seen me in this lingerie. This is the culmination of years of waiting for you to come along. You were worth the wait. Pick out the piece you want me to wear tonight”.
3) Wake up to a reminder everyday that you are beautiful. Do you have an empty wall space in your bedroom? Wouldn’t it be amazing to wake up to a Wall of Affirmation? You should be reminded every day that you are amazing, just as you are.
